Privacy
What we collect
- Email — only if you sign in. Used for authentication and to send the magic link. Never sold or used for marketing.
- Watched movies — the films you mark as seen, so we can stop showing them and track your progress against canon lists.
- Filter preferences — your minimum-score, language, and platform choices, saved server-side so they sync across devices.
- Public profile — a username and optional avatar. Username is auto- generated; you can change it. Anyone can visit
/u/<username>and see your watched-movie list.
What we don't collect
- No analytics pixels, no advertising trackers, no third-party behaviour profiling.
- No location data. No device fingerprinting.
- No reading or watching history outside of what you explicitly mark on Unseen.
Cookies
Just one — the authentication session cookie set by Supabase, so you stay signed in across visits. No tracking cookies, no third-party cookies. The cookie clears when you sign out or delete your account.
Where the data lives
Your account and watched-movie data are stored in Supabase (Postgres + auth). The site itself runs on Vercel. Movie metadata (titles, posters, ratings, streaming availability) comes from TMDB, OMDb, and Watchmode — those services see the films we ask about, not which user asked.
Your rights
- Delete your account any time from Settings. That removes your auth row, your profile, your watched-movie list, and your filter preferences.
- Email hello@unseen.movie for a copy of your data, to ask a question, or to flag a privacy concern.
Children
Unseen isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Terms of use
Free service, as-is
Unseen is provided free of charge. Movie ratings, scores, and streaming availability come from third-party sources and aren't guaranteed to be accurate or current. We may change, pause, or shut down the service at any time without notice.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure. Don't share your account with others. We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service — scraping the site at scale, attempting to circumvent rate limits, harassing other users via public profiles, that kind of thing.
Content
Movie posters, plot synopses, and ratings are the property of their respective owners (TMDB, IMDb, the studios, etc.) and are displayed under fair use. The Unseen Score and the analysis on this site are ours.
Liability
To the extent allowed by law, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from using Unseen. If something doesn't work, the most we owe you is a refund — and you're paying nothing.
Changes
If something material changes about how we collect data or what the terms are, we'll update this page and bump the date at the top. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
