After Megamind, a highly intelligent alien supervillain, defeats his long-time nemesis Metro Man, Megamind creates a new hero to fight, but must act to save the city when his "creation" becomes an even worse villain than he was.
What critics thought
Megamind lands as a moderately enjoyable animated comedy that critics found visually polished and buoyed by a strong voice cast, but the film's core problem — that it feels assembled from parts of The Incredibles and Despicable Me — was hard to shake. The divide was less about quality than about whether its visual and comedic energy was enough to compensate for a premise critics kept calling recycled.
