Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Several generations following Caesar's reign, apes – now the dominant species – live harmoniously while humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all he's known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.

A broadly favorable but genuinely divided reception: the ape-centric visuals and world-building draw consistent praise, but critics split sharply over whether the film has enough substance to justify its runtime or merely lays pipe for future sequels. The human characters, particularly Mae, were a recurring weak point, and several reviewers noted how closely the third act mirrors plot machinery from the Caesar trilogy.
