Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people.

Visually stunning and emotionally engaging, Raya and the Last Dragon earned broad critical enthusiasm for its animation, action sequences, and diverse cast, though a meaningful minority found its worldbuilding uneven and its treatment of Southeast Asian cultures more decorative than genuinely representative. The gap between the near-universal praise for the film's craft and the pointed criticism of its cultural specificity is where the real debate sits.
