Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

Hapless museum night watchman Larry Daley must help his living, breathing exhibit friends out of a pickle now that they've been transferred to the archives at the Smithsonian Institution. Larry's (mis)adventures this time include close encounters with Amelia Earhart, Abe Lincoln and Ivan the Terrible.

The sequel landed as a mixed bag, with critics largely agreeing that Amy Adams and Hank Azaria inject real energy into the film but that the production drowns them in an overcrowded spectacle. Where reviews split was over whether the relentless pileup of special effects and set pieces amounts to harmless fun for kids or a chaotic substitute for genuine storytelling.
