Two thieves, who travel in elegant circles, try to outsmart each other and, in the process, end up falling in love.

A glossy, slick caper that critics were largely skeptical of, with the underdeveloped plot and the considerable age gap between Connery and Zeta-Jones drawing the most fire. Where critics diverged was on whether the film's style and set-pieces were enough to compensate — a notable minority found the action sequences and Zeta-Jones's screen presence genuinely entertaining, while the majority felt the mechanics never added up to much.
