Resident Evil: Apocalypse

As the city is locked down under quarantine, Alice finds out that the people that died from the previous incident at the Umbrella Corporation have turned into zombies. She then joins a small band of elite soldiers, who are enlisted to rescue the missing daughter of the creator of the mutating T-virus. Once lack of luck and resources happen, they begin to wage an exhilarating battle to survive and escape before the Umbrella Corporation erases its experiment from the face of the earth.

Critics largely dismissed the sequel as a creative and narrative void, with most finding it inferior to even the modest original. The rare defenders tended to concede its stupidity while arguing there's a certain trashy momentum when the action kicks in — a distinction that hardened opponents like Roger Ebert and Leonard Maltin rejected entirely. Even among the few positives, critics couldn't agree on the cast: one outlet singled out Jovovich as the film's saving grace while another said she looked bored, and they disagreed just as sharply over whether Sienna Guillory's Jill Valentine compensated or not.
