Underworld: Evolution

As the war between the vampires and the Lycans rages on, Selene, a former member of the Death Dealers (an elite vampire special forces unit that hunts werewolves), and Michael, the werewolf hybrid, work together in an effort to unlock the secrets of their respective bloodlines.

Critics were broadly dismissive of this vampire-werewolf sequel, finding its mythology-heavy story more confusing than compelling and its visual style numbing rather than stylish. Audiences were more forgiving than critics, but the gap between those two camps is considerable. The film's relentless blue-tinted aesthetic drew particular scorn as a shorthand for artistic ambition that the film never earns.
