Project X

Three high school seniors throw a party to make a name for themselves. As the night progresses, things spiral out of control as word of the party spreads.

Critics were largely hostile to Project X, attacking its mean-spirited treatment of women, its glorification of consequence-free debauchery, and characters too unpleasant to root for — but a minority of defenders argued that moral objections were missing the anarchic point, and that the film delivers exactly the brainless, escalating chaos it promises. The sharpest disagreement centered on whether the found-footage party format felt genuinely thrilling or merely cynically exploitative.
