The final Twilight chapter lands squarely in mixed territory — franchise devotees walked out thrilled, particularly by a late action sequence that caught many critics off guard, while those outside the fanbase found the slow opening and familiar melodrama harder to forgive. Critics could agree on almost nothing else: some saw a series finally loosening up and having fun with its own absurdity, others found it earnest to a fault.
