A mid-flight thriller that works better as a Liam Neeson vehicle than as a coherent mystery — critics generally enjoyed the ride while it lasted but found the final act implausible enough to sour the whole trip. The divide falls between those willing to surrender to its pulpy, illogical pleasures and those who felt the strong setup deserved a smarter payoff. Audiences were kinder than critics, suggesting the film plays much better in a theater than it reads on paper.
