Den of Thieves

A gritty crime saga which follows the lives of an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff's Dept. and the state's most successful bank robbery crew as the outlaws plan a seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank.

Critics were largely unimpressed with Den of Thieves, finding it an energetic but derivative heist thriller that wears its influences — chiefly Heat — too openly to stand on its own. Audiences who turned out responded considerably more warmly than critics did, suggesting the film's pulpy pleasures play better on their own terms than under scrutiny.
